I’ve been taking a break from my blog, but wanted to let you know about three presentations I will be giving this week!

Intro to Caching

Caching is such a deep and complex subject that it can be difficult to know where to begin. This session will cover the basics of caching in ColdFusion from using page and query caching to using CFCs to cache data and functions into a persistent scope to create a service, as well as the new caching functions in cf9. We will discuss the pros and cons of each solution and workarounds for caching and refreshing the cache as you need it. You’ll be amazed at the difference caching can make for your websites.

First, I will be giving an Intro to Caching presentation at the local Philladelphia CFUG meeting on Thursday, May 20th. Check out the meeting details on the group’s website:

NCDevCon

The local presentation is just a prelude to the presentations I will be giving at the awesome free NCDevCon conference in Raleigh, NC held May 22-23. I will be giving my Intro to Caching presentation there as well as heading up the Hands On ColdFusion, Session 3 where I will be covering the topics of Application.cfc, ColdFusion Components (CFCs), User Defined Functions (UDFs), and custom tags.
